Prayer Warrior
Janet Minton
Date of Death: August 2013
A donation was given in memory of Janet.
Janet Minton, from KY, was 4M's prayer warrior. She would call me periodically and let me know she was faithfully praying daily for 4M and would always ask me how I wanted her to specifically pray. May God raise up more prayer warriors like Janet.

Card Designer
Marilyn Decker
Date of Death: April 2014
A donation was given in memory of Marilyn.
Marilyn Decker, (of Michigan) the first card designer of decorative all occasion cards to join 4M ministries, passed away April 2014. Years ago, Marilyn designed and made cards for her missionary sister. This "hobby" turned into making cards as a nursing home ministry for Marilyn and of course to "others" as well. Upon hearing about 4M Missionary Ministries at a Nazarene Prime Timer's Retreat in TN, God stirred Marilyn's heart to use her card making talents for missionaries around the world. I, Ruth Conaway, who was not even old enough to be at this retreat, was asked by my mother-in-law, Naomi Conaway, to attend this event with her. We prayed that God would open doors for 4M to make contact of missionaries so free Tupperware could be given to them in the future. Nothing worked out like we thought, BUT, God was working in ways different then our thinking. Marilyn sat at our meal table one evening of this retreat and heard Naomi tell of 4M Missionary Ministries. As Naomi spoke, I watched Marilyn's facial expressions, because you could tell she was taking in all of this news of 4M. Later, Marilyn approached me, asking if her cards could be put in with the free Tupperware that I was handing out to missionaries. I remember thinking, "Who am I to say "No" if God is telling her to do so.". Therefore, card making
started, expanding 4M's ministry giving now of cards along with the free Tupperware to missionaries.

Card Designer
Mary Emmans Date of Death: May 2014 A donation was given in memory of Mary. Mary Emmans, (of Indiana), the second person to partner with 4M to make cards for the personal use of missionaries, passed away May 28, 2014. Upon hearing of a ministry that gave handmade cards to missionaries, Mary approached me, telling of her hearts desire of 30 years to give her hand drawn barn cards to missionaries but didn't know how to get them to missionaries around the world. Mary drew barns of her area on computer paper, folded the paper into a card form, then purchased envelops for each card. She always added more envelops just in case the missionaries goofed on one envelop and would then need another one. This was her reasoning for adding more envelops to her packet of cards. Mary made over 1,500 cards that were handed out to missionaries and international delegates at the Church of the Nazarene 2013 General Assembly: |
Pictures of Mary's hand drawn barn cards:
Mary was able to personally present one set of cards to touring missionaries that spoke at her church. She was delighted!!!
|
Right before General Assembly, Mary started drawing flowers on cards instead of barns. The picture above shows two missionary girls with Mary's flower cards that they were going to color and write a note to their grandparents in the states. Mary was so thrilled to receive this picture and to know that someone was really using her cards to be a blessing to others.

A donation was given to 4M Missionary Ministries in memory of Richard Pettit of Elaine Pettit Ministries. Rick lived and walked the Christian life and was a great example to us all. We truly miss him on this earth but wouldn't ask for him to return because we know he is in Heaven with Jesus and there is nothing on this earth worth returning to once being in Heaven and seeing Jesus. Rick has ran the race and through Jesus Christ our Lord, won the victory! Our prayers goes out to Rick's wife, Rev. Elaine Pettit and his family, during these sad but rejoicing days! Rick was ready to meet his Lord, are you?
